The GOV.UK website have now set up the handiest of services and it takes just a moment to complete for a years peace of mind, click on the below link to set your MOT reminder up now!



We’re expecting record demand for MOTs this autumn.

Twice as many people as usual will need an MOT in September, October and November. That means Pressbay motors and others, will be extremely busy.

You can beat the rush – get your test done now!

It’s worth knowing you can book an MOT test with us up to a month minus a day before yours is due to expire, and you can still keep your renewal date.

So if your test is due in September, consider booking with us in August instead – we’ll make sure your vehicle is roadworthy and you won’t have to worry about getting your MOT done for another year.

Of course, if you absolutely cannot move your MOT forward from autumn, we’ll do our very best to fit you in. But if you can, please do think about getting your test done soon to stay safe on the roads, and beat the autumn rush.

Special measures

In order to keep our customers and staff safe we have introduced the following measures:


  • Please leave windows down (weather permitting) and handover keys at reception
  • Protective screen installed in reception to provide a barrier between customer(s) and staff at drop-off and collection 
  • Where possible vehicle(s) should be left for work to avoid excessive time spent on site.  If this cannot be avoided please note waiting times can be anywhere from 1 - 2 hours minimum.  We ask customers to use the seating provided outside of reception.


  • Use of disposable gloves and routine cleaning of vehicle surfaces touched during course of work, including keys at handover
  • We may turn off your vehicle ventilation system to avoid/minimise anything being airborne within a vehicle


  • To prevent unnecessary waiting time please avoid arriving to collect your vehicle until we have notified you that your vehicle is ready for collection
  • On arrival please report to reception.  We ask customers and staff to adhere strictly to 2 metre distancing, we can therefore allow only 1 customer at a time into the reception area.
  • To minimise handling of cash we encourage customers to settle invoice(s) by card
